I went through a similar process of realizing that I must speak to these connections in some way, even when they do not directly relate to what I am saying. The trade book/academic tone issue has been on my mind as well. I'm so tired of my own academic voice--but not sure I've mastered the tight-rope walk just yet. I'm confident you will.Cheryl Quimbyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07813817053086587880noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6298800147004889611.post-68797017461001082202012-05-15T01:51:06.790-07:002012-05-15T01:51:06.790-07:00Dear Thomas,

I mean that I am including more of this than I did in my PhD... but hopefully not so much that it ends up as a trade book. If anyone has comments on that issue, I would be very interested...

Thanks, Thomas, hope to see you again soon!Christina Bradstreethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07772980435163056879noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6298800147004889611.post-47222976855561741732012-05-14T12:37:24.847-07:002012-05-14T12:37:24.847-07:00Christina, have you considered image availability?...Christina, have you considered image availability? If your reader can actually see the image printed in the book, you way have to treat it differently to one where you may not be able to get hold of it for publication and so need more description, but less discussion. I hope that makes sense.Thomas Lathamnoreply@blogger.com
